
Wallonie-Bruxelles International (WBI) is offering up to 12 scholarships for current, full-time teachers of French in Louisiana to attend a 2-week workshop at the University of Mons in Belgium. The workshop will take place July 2-15, 2026. The scholarship covers the courses, housing, and a meal stipend.
Program Description
The International Center of Applied Phonetics (CIPA) at the University of Mons (UMons) has designed a training program comprised of 70 hours of courses and consisting of educational, language, and cultural components. Participants must have at least the B2 level of French. Upon successful completion of the training program, a certificate will be issued to the participants.
What's Included in the Scholarship?
The scholarship is offered by Wallonie-Bruxelles International (WBI) and covers the courses included in the training program, housing, and a meal stipend.
The scholarship recipient pays for his/her round-trip plane ticket, ground transportation in Belgium, and travel insurance including medical and repatriation coverage.

Tentative daily schedule Monday through Friday:
- 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Class (with 15-minute coffee break)
- 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. – Lunch
- 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. – Class (with 15-minute coffee break)
- 7:00 – 9:30 p.m. – Ciné-club (Tuesday evenings only)
