
There are 6 scholarships available to Louisiana adults (18 years of age and older) that offer $150 to participate in virtual French sessions offered by Université Sainte-Anne, a university headquartered in Church Point, Nova Scotia in Canada. These virtual session scholarships provide support for a series of classes that take place online via Microsoft Teams, once a week for 10 weeks.
Virtual Classes by Université Sainte-Anne’s Halifax Campus
Classes are held once a week for 10 weeks. Each class lasts 2 hours and 15 minutes. First-time participants will need to complete the university’s French assessment (a written and an oral section) and their class placement will be done according to the following categories:
- Beginner levels 1-4
- Beginner conversation (pre-requisite: Beginner 4)
- Intermediate levels 1-4
- Intermediate conversation (pre-requisite: Intermediate 4)
- Advanced levels 1-4
- Advanced conversation (pre-requisite: Advanced 4)
- Perfectionnement (pre-requisite: Advanced 4)
- Written French workshop (pre-requisite: Advanced 4)
- Reading and oral expression (pre-requisite: Advanced 4)

Apply for Sainte-Anne's Virtual Session Scholarships
First-time applicants will be required to complete a written (online) and an oral (telephone) assessment with a representative from Université Sainte-Anne.
To register for these assessments, applicants must submit a letter of motivation. Requirements:
– 2 page maximum
– Letter should be in French, although English will be accepted for beginners
