High School Scholarships

People around a fire who received high school scholarships to study French

Louisiana high school students are eligible to receive a scholarship to study French through the CODOFIL scholarship competition and Southeastern University’s Foreign Language Festival. These high school scholarships provide an immersive experience in Canada, Belgium, or France.

CODOFIL High School Scholarship Competition

Louisiana high school students whose school is affiliated with the Louisiana Association of High School French Clubs (ALCFES) are invited to participate in this scholarship competition organized by CODOFIL. The French teachers at each of these schools should collectively select one student who is studying French to participate in the competition.

The selected student must compose a letter of motivation (typed, in French, and in their own words) and submit it to Jennifer Rodriguez (jrodriguez@crt.la.gov) at CODOFIL by January 21, 2025. Then the scholarship candidates will be invited to an interview in French, from January 21-24, 2025, as well as January 30-31, 2025.

Southeastern Louisiana University’s Foreign Language Festival

The Foreign Language Festival will take place March 21, 2025 on Southeastern Louisiana University’s campus in Hammond. One scholarship will be awarded to an eligible student in the French IV Extemporaneous Speaking category.
