Accent Français, a renowned language school in Montpellier (France), is pleased to offer this new scholarship to a Louisianan university student. The recipient of this scholarship will participate in the language school’s 4-week standard French course this summer.

Program Description

The recipient of this scholarship will participate in the language school’s 4-week standard course with 24 lessons (15+ hours) offered per week. The program includes tutoring every Monday to guide you in your learning. Also, an educational workshop is offered every Friday to practice French after class and in real-life situations. Classes are held from either 9:00am to 12:15pm or 2:15pm to 5:30pm Monday to Friday. Mondays and Fridays, from 12:30pm to 2:00pm, are reserved for the pedagogical tutoring and workshop.

During the program, the recipient will stay with a host family based on his/her needs. His/her preferences will be taken into account when selecting a host family. Being able to speak French beyond the classroom and have a rich cultural experience are among the highlights of staying with a host family. All the hosts selected by Accent Français are located a maximum of 45 minutes from the school.

What's Included in the Scholarship?

The scholarship will cover the 4-week general French course (24 lessons per week), housing with a host family (private room provided), breakfast, dinner, a tour of Montpellier, and either a pétanque picnic soirée or a coffee meetup (according to session dates).

The scholarship recipient pays the registration fee, passport fee, insurance covering medical, repatriation and travel, round-trip plane ticket between Louisiana and France, and ground transportation in France.

Travel Information

If you choose the session that begins on June 1, 2026, for example, the program organizers will be expecting you to arrive in Montpellier on May 31, 2026. Upon completion of the program, you will be expected to depart Montpellier to return home on June 27, 2026.

You will have two travel options. You may choose to fly to Montpellier with a connecting flight in Paris. Or you may choose to fly to Paris and then take a train from Paris to Montpellier. For the latter, the train trip from Paris to Montpellier usually takes 3.5 to 4 hours.
