CODOFIL is proud to support Franco Fine Arts Exchange (Franco FAE) and its upcoming group exhibition “Acadian Looking Glass,” opening April 22, 2026 at Cité des Arts in Lafayette as part of a broader effort to connect and celebrate Acadian artists worldwide. The exhibition will run April 22 through May 31, 2026. The event will feature the work of more than 15 Acadian artists from Acadiana, across the United States, and Canada, bringing together diverse artistic perspectives connected by a shared Acadian heritage.
Written by Louisiana educator and playwright Kirby Jambon, the play is a creative reinterpretation of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland rooted in the traditions, humor, and storytelling of Louisiana’s French and Creole heritage. Performed in Louisiana French and Louisiana Creole, the production follows a young girl named Alice who finds herself in a mysterious world populated by characters and animals that echo both the whimsical figures of Wonderland and the voices of her own family’s past. Through this fantastical journey, Alice discovers her identity, her culture, and the living legacy of Louisiana’s Francophone traditions.
This ambitious community production brings together 37 actors from across Acadiana, ranging in age from 5 to 74, including experienced performers, first-time actors, French immersion students, and community members who are learning French. The production also features a dedicated creative team of artists and volunteers, as well as contributions from the Franco Fine Arts Exchange.
Performances of “Alice au pays des mémères” will take place April 25 and 26 at 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at Cité des Arts in Lafayette. The show is part of the official program of the Festival International de Louisiane, celebrating the global Francophone connections that make Acadiana unique.
