CODOFIL Award

A high school student receives the CODOFIL Award

In partnership with La Fondation Louisiane, each year CODOFIL recognizes graduating seniors from Louisiana high schools who have demonstrated a steadfast commitment to the French language. These seniors have excelled in a high-level French course, marking the culmination of years of efforts in their pursuit to master a language that is at the heart of Louisiana’s rich culture. The CODOFIL Award provides recognized seniors a certificate and $500.

Eligibility Requirements

Teachers who are interested in nominating one senior from their school must fill out the CODOFIL Award nomination form.

Candidates must:

  • Be a graduating senior from a Louisiana high school
  • Have taken a high level French course (French 3 or above) while in high school, but they do not need to currently be enrolled in French
  • Have excelled in their studies and demonstrated a commitment to learning French, in their personal and academic pursuits

Application Deadline

January 1 – March 15, 2026
