This Escadrille Louisiane pathway is for Louisiana residents with an advanced level of French. Participants pursue an approved, post-baccalaureate alternative teacher certification program in Louisiana. For more information about teacher preparation programs, visit the Louisiana Department of Education teacher prep page.
Program Description
To be fully certified to teach French immersion (elementary level) in Louisiana, one must obtain Elementary Education Grades 1-5 certification as well as French K-12 certification. Qualified individuals may request financial assistance once enrolled in an appropriate alternative teacher certification program. Financial assistance will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
Upon successful completion of the alternative teacher certification program, the individual will be considered an Escadrille Louisiane graduate/teacher.
